Vigüela is the main artist of traditional music from Spain: jota, fandango, seguidilla and son, the vivid and thrilling styles they play, are in one hand, the mother of flamenco and, in the other hand, music from the people, made to allow everybody to participate according to their skills.

Vigüela’s focus of the work is of artistic excellence. They have played all over Spain and also in Great Britain, invited by the BBC Radio 3 for WOMAD, and in Portugal, representing Spain at the Festival Bons Sons 2012, as well as in world music stages in Europe, like Førdefestivalen (Norway), Urkult Festival (Sweden), Fonó and Babel Sound Music Meeting (Hungary), Mazurkas of the World (Poland), the tour Klangkosmos in Germany (12 concerts), Mediterranean Music Festival in Switzerland or Womad UK. In 2019 they performed in Spain, Poland (May and July), Germany, Slovenia, Portugal, Serbia and Uzbekistan.

They have done workshops for adults and kids, that are a delight.

The workshops for kids

Two facts make possible that Vigüela offer workshops for kids:
• They use many instruments, quite simple, like tambourines, mortars, scissors, frying pans, canes… even stones! The music from their tradition was made with any object that could make noise to accompany the singing.

That’s the reason why many kids can have one instrument during the workshop and play together with the band.

Moreover, some of the instruments are astonishing! For instance, the zambomba, that you see in the picture above, has a deep and surprising sound and every kid wants to make it sound.

• The traditional games are also quite easy to develop. They need just people or common things, like chairs. It is used music and the group of participants to create a frame for interpersonal interaction and the participation goes on increasing as the kids get more excited.
